Trust & safety
Verification and safety on LandlordPort
What our verification actually checks, what it does not, and the habits that keep property deals in Nigeria safe.
Verification protocol
1 · Submit an application
Agents, landlords, property managers and developers apply with business details, operating areas and a contact account. Applications are free to submit.
2 · Moderation review
The review team checks the application and the identity or business documents supplied. A typical review takes 1–2 working days.
3 · Verified badge
The badge appears only after the review passes. Until then, listings and directory profiles show the pending state instead.
Verification confirms the checks performed at review time: identity and business documents as supplied. It does not certify ownership of any listed property, and it is not a guarantee of a transaction. Listing content comes from advertisers; always verify details independently before paying for anything.
Safety & fraud tips
- Never pay a 'booking fee' to a stranger without a written agreement and a receipt.
- Inspect the property in person (or send someone you trust) before paying a deposit.
- Confirm the survey matches the plot on the ground. Hire a licensed surveyor for land.
- Keep every payment record: bank transfer, receipt and signed documents.
Something on a listing looks wrong? Every property page has a Report this property button. Reports go straight to the moderation team and are logged for review.
LandlordPort does not hold funds, provide legal advice or verify ownership on your behalf. Deals are agreed directly between the parties.
